Liquid Hacks is a 300-person, 36-hour hackthon hosted by Team Liquid on November 6-8, 2020. We are excited to have hackers and gamers alike join us for a weekend!

Our virtual event begins at 5PM PST on Friday, Nov. 6th and ends at 5PM PST on Sunday, Nov. 8th. Hacking will begin Friday night at 6PM PST after the opening ceremony, which will be streamed on our Team Liquid Twitch

All projects must be submitted by 12:00PM PST (3:00PM EST) on Sunday. All team members must be registered on Devpost.

Eligibility

  • Must have been accepted into Liquid Hacks 2020, read and signed our Terms & Conditions form, and has joined our event Discord server.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and living in the US or Canada at the time of the event. Participants do not need to be attending a university/college to qualify for participation. 

  • Beginners are welcome, applicants can participate regardless of programming experience or background.
  • Team sizes are capped at four (4) participants.

Requirements

  • Teams are limited to 4 participants max.

  • Every team member must be registered on Devpost and have joined the hackathon page.

  • Stealing source code is strictly prohibited. 

  • Projects must be submitted through Devpost by 12:00PM PST, Sunday November 8th.

  • Once the hackathon begins, you will have the option to submit your hack. You can continue to edit and resubmit your hack until the deadline.

  • Each team is limited to one (1) submission.

    • Delegate one person on your team to complete the submission form.

  • You must include a demo video that is no longer than 2 minutes.
    • If you're uploading your video onto Youtube, please make sure your video is public or unlisted.
  • You must include the GitHub repo link.

  • You will be required to answer and complete the submission questions.

  • You  must select all of the prize categories you’d like to opt in to be judged for.

    • In the drop down menu, hold Control (Windows) or Command (Mac) to select your multiple choices.
  • Please also specify if anyone on your team is a beginner.

    • Those who qualify as beginners are participants who have less than 1 year of coding experience and this is their first ever hackathon.

  • Remember to invite all of your teammates onto your Devpost project as contributors.

    • Devpost submissions form will have an "Invite your team" section, where you can either share the specific link with your teammates or invite them via email.

  • A valid submission is a hack produced at Liquid Hacks 2020, from start to finish. Any code written before hacking begins will be disqualified.

  • Originality and Innovation
    How creative is this project? Is this project unique and innovative? Is it a solution to a problem we have never seen before?
  • Quality
    How much effort was put in? Is this project free of major bugs? Is it user-friendly, is the user experience smooth? Is it well designed?
  • Practicality
    How useful is this project? Does this project have any feasible application in real life? Is the hack practical?
  • Technical Complexity
    How technically interesting and difficult is the project? Does it use and incorporate APIs? Your project should show that your team has some proficiency in the technologies used.
